Preparing for the visit

• Leave the furniture in place, without taking it apart.
• Do not wax or repair it before we come.
• Do not empty the drawers: we look at what is inside too.
• Gather the keys to locked furniture: secretary desk, wardrobe, display cabinet.
• Write down what you know about the history of the pieces: purchase, inheritance, move.
• If the house has a cellar or an attic, plan for some light.
