A second-hand dealer based in the 92

We are based in Issy-les-Moulineaux, in Hauts-de-Seine, the department just west and south-west of Paris. It is our department, the one we know best. As antique and second-hand dealers, we do both jobs: we value fine pieces, but we also look at simpler objects that find buyers at flea markets. When you call us for a valuation or a clearance, we come to your home without charging for the journey. We examine, we explain, then you decide, with no obligation.

Apartment or house: two different clearances

The 92 mixes two ways of living. Close to Paris, in Boulogne-Billancourt, Levallois-Perret, Neuilly-sur-Seine or Montrouge, people mostly live in apartments, with a cellar and sometimes a lock-up garage. Further south and west, in Antony, Rueil-Malmaison, Sceaux or Garches, neighbourhoods of detached houses take up a large place.

In an apartment

It all comes down to access: the floor, the lift, the width of the staircase, room to park. We note this during the visit to prepare the removal. The contents are usually in the living rooms, plus a cellar.

In a house

A house holds more. There is the basement, the garage, the attic, sometimes a garden shed or a workshop. After an estate, or when parents leave the house for somewhere simpler, everything has to be gone through. Antiques like to hide in these storage spaces: a stopped clock in a box, a case of silver cutlery in the dining room sideboard, postcards in a trunk.

A damp basement quickly damages paper and wood. If boxes have been stored there for a long time, do not pull them out by the bottom: take them out gently, or leave it to us.

What we buy from you

We are interested in quality antiques: period furniture, clocks and watches, jewellery and gold, silver, coins and medals, paintings, porcelain, Asian art, curiosities. For a full house clearance, the value of what we buy is deducted from the price. Sometimes what we buy covers everything: emptying the house then becomes free. Cleaning can be added if you need it.

Before our visit

• Keep everything in place, even the boxes in the attic.
• Clear access to the basement, garage or cellar.
• Set aside what the family wants to keep.
• Tell us if the attic of the house can only be reached through a hatch.
• If you can, send us a few photos on WhatsApp so that we get a first idea.
